Description
Recommended Hunting Season – All year.
Minimum of 2-3 day hunt.
1-2 Hunters.
Wild Cattle or Scrub Bulls were originally domestic cattle brought to Australia by early European settlers for food. Being escapees from cattle stations and farms meant that they have had to adapt to the harsh Australian landscape making them a formidable and resilient beast and dangerous when wounded or threatened.
Similar to Banteng, they make for a challenging, yet rewarding hunt. Not an animal to be taken lightly, they are known to be quite aggressive and difficult to put down. They can range in size from 500kg to 1200kg with the ideal horn size of over 35cm long and 20cm in diameter. Although they originated from the Brahman breed, their appearance can vary dramatically including colour, size and physical characteristics. The bulls with the biggest and best horns are generally over 4 years of age and produce an impressive trophy head.
Scrub Bull hunts will be accompanied by a professional guide and will be a stalk style hunt. Your guide will carry all necessary safety equipment including a GPS and first aid kit as well as a backup firearm.
